Mercedes have introduced their street legal racing car, their 'newest addition to the GT family', the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R. We've known of the car for a while now due to the spy shots which were released in March, but nonetheless it's finally here and is a beast of a machine.
This wild beast is packed with an impressive 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 resulting in a figure of 585hp, resulting in the GT R to reach 0-60 in an estimated time of 3.5 seconds and having a top speed of 198mph. Can the new Mercedes-AMG GT R hold it's own as it goes up against rival cars such as; the Aston Martin’s Vantage GT12, the Porsche 911 GT3, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and last but not least the Nissan GTR, which attain similiar attributes and hold competition on the market.
The design of the Mercedes-AMG GT R is Mercedes' most relished work, producing another monster machine. The main changes that were applied to the vehicle included a wider front and rear fender, a modification to the front grill design, proceeding in larger air intakes cooling the engine faster and the huge rear wing, finishing off the car in an exclusive “AMG green hell magno” paint job.
You will be able to order the new 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R from November 21st 2016 and we expect it to hit the market sometime early next year, costing somewhere around $130,000.
